It could be viewed as help if you wanted it cutting back before digging up.

Remember as well @gmarkj this plant was in the back garden. 20 years old and beautiful. Jasmine Nudiflorum. The instructions were, trim the overhanging bits.

Came back, the Jasmine was nothing more than a stump in the ground and he had pulled the fence down with it.

My neighbour said "are you really sure Den wanted this jasmine out Ray"..... That should have given him pause for thought.....Sadly for him, it didnt!!

Tell you what though, the jasmine started flowering again(from the stump) 2 years later...and is now climbing again. Like a phoenix

@Anonymous I 'pay' my son to do them. He does them properly, includes the edging and weeding. It's worth a pack of tobacco to him...

Hubby just rolls the lawnmower over the lawns and thinks it's job done @Anonymous
