@Wa10 wrote:Belated Happy Birthday @jonsie! Sorry to hear that it was a bit of a challenging one, but hope you're feeling a bit more yourself now - and that you make it to the pub with your Son sometime soon! If not, when you're allowed I'm going to come over there and buy you a pint myself.
Anybody want a dose of man flu? 😞 Not impressed...yesterday I thought I was just feeling a bit rough after an overindulgent evening of Malbec and Lagavulin 16, haha, however this morning it's definitely some kind of terminal illness.
I'll look forward to it @Wa10
No I never got to the pub but I did get a lovely birthday cake from the nurses. I managed one piece before they scoffed the lot!
My God, you have man flu? Oh dear Lord that's very serious, maybe you should be in here and not playing the hero by going in to work. I'm guessing you have a lady boss as unfortunately they've never suffered such traumatic symptoms. ...

@jonsie ... may I say the following ... ( @Cleoriff has been 'bold' speaking to you as a friend & as someone with a lifetime career from cadet nurse to nursing management ) ... Steve, we're good friends, we know each other well from pm stuff shared in between your visits to Thailand ... ... ... Will you please consider The Time Factor (what is a few more months ... versus ... a life-changing decision which will affect the rest of your life) ... ie ... Yes, my dear friend I realise you've been set back some months hence this recent surgery ... you call it The Ultimate Decision ... = ... there will be more pain & counselling ... I promise to come & see you when you are allowed visitors ... = ... it'll be a chance for me to get out of Skipton town which I only occasionally do = it'll do me good, thank you
IF I'VE UPSET YOU STEVE OR ANYONE ELSE BY THE ABOVE ^ ^ ^ ... THEN PLEASE SAY & I CAN DELETE
Steve ... in your no-doubt dark times when at night-time you find it difficult to sleep ... remember ... we're all here for you = you have some older, very good friends here ... longer friendships than us 2 have
Always thinking about you Steve & your family & friends ... ... ... xxx

Before 'closing down for the day' with kindly meant night-time wishes
Will you please just think of me? ... to me, thinking of someone is as good as saying a prayer for them imhho
My stress levels are high atm ... as, no doubt are other peoples' ... = ... it's par for the course in today's 21st century lifestyle / society ... innit?
I'm' fighting on several fronts' ... & ... am persevering ... & ... I 'fight' like The Yorkist King Richard 111 ... = ... leading from the front ... ... ... much good it did him ... = ... his so-called supporters deserted him during the Battle Of Bosworth Field
A solicotor's bill is the least of my concerns ... = ... just checking the lie of the land, as it's likely my sister can 'pull the rug from under me' given likely future circumstances ... + ... removing, as an executor of my will, someone who now is toxic in my life ... = ... whilst me trying to remain on a friendly basis ... My son Alex is giving me 'The Silent Treatment' all because I passed on marriage Congratulations from a schoolfriend & re-gave the friend's mobile number to my son ... my son's friend spotted me at last year's Skipton CAMRA Beer Festival ... I'm trying to accept ... = ... I'm in my 7th Age Of Man ... & ... I've never been truly loved by a man & unlikely to have that experience because of my age

@AnonymousRaining here today. My hubby is walking around with his mardy face on. It's the last outdoor bowls game of the season...and it looks as if it may be cancelled....

Hi @Cleoriff ... does your hubby play indoor bowls? ... ... ... Will there be some sort of dinner-do as it's the end of the outdoor bowls season for him? ... & ... do you wash your hubby's white bowling gear
It's a pleasant evening again here ... despite earlier rain ... not many people in town - guess they looked up the weather forecast for Skipton & decided not to bother
