It's a pleasant evening again here ... despite earlier rain ... not many people in town - guess they looked up the weather forecast for Skipton & decided not to bother
Hi Jane....Its outdoor flat green bowls he plays. They do have indoor bowls for the winter but Ray doesn't like that!. So the match today was rained off which made him even more mardy 
All his bowling whites have been washed and will be put away for next season.
As for a dinner do...forget it. Nothing has been mentioned and I am thankful for that. A lot of women who belong to this club (and bowl) are retired nurses who I have worked with. They would try and pressure me to join.....and I would rather stick pins in my eyes...

You've made me laugh @Cleoriff ... I guess you'd rather be reading a good book, pottering around in your garden, watching tv, being with your family & your gang - to name but a few things you've shared with us here ... I've actually bought 5 x £1 mini cyclamens today + cleared out weed infested pseudo Grecian urn & planted them, they've got lots of buds on sooo let's hope for the best ... I'm not a natural gardener ... but ... I like something colourful in the centre of the yard as a focal point ...

Please don't remind me it's Autumn ...as much as I love the beauty of the season etc etc...it precedes Winter. I hate the cold and the short days and nights...

And it feels it @Anonymous in spite of the glorious sunshine I see out of my window.
The clocks go back in a month. Then it's Halloween. Then before you know it it's Christmas and New Year's eve. Another year over.
