Yes I know it's early but ITV have started to announce the contestants @Mi-Amigo and @sheepdog (and anyone else interested.

I've read that John Barrowman won't be judging this series. No news on who will replace him.

Today we have the first two contestants.

1) Sally Dynevor.

Sally has played Sally Webster on Coronation Street for 35 years. Aged 58. As I watch Corrie she is well known to me (lol)

2) Mark 'Bez' Berry from Happy Mondays

Already my favourite. Just love him. Mad as a box of frogs but apparently taking this seriously.

At least I know these two... I expect the rest will be announced over the next two weeks.

MUSICAL WEEK

Kimberley and Joe - The Greatest Show. What an excellent and complicated skate. Moved over the ice effortlessly. Scored 34

Liberty and Joe - I Like To Move It. Super costumes, although she looked a bit uncomfortable as a zebra. Had a little wobble or two. Scored 27

Connor and Alexandra. - Footloose. Excellent skate, jam packed with content. He was a little faster than her at times but still great. Underscored (again) 30

Stef and Andy. Time of My Life. Did ok but limited content I thought. It's a pity that her artificial leg tends to drop when being lifted Scored 26.5

Rachel and Brendyn. Lady Marmalade.

A good first performance technically. Lacks confidence though Scored 26.5.

Sally and Matt. The Trolley Song. Mmmmm. Limited content. Spent a lot of time on the trolley. Never out of hold. Scored 26.0

Ria and Lucasz. Into the Unknown. Did well except for a wobble. A shame because she skated out of hold a fair amount. Scored 26.0

Regan and Karina - Singing in the Rain. What a superb skate. This guy makes it look effortless. There was a stumble but who cares? Compared to the others who have skated thus far, he is streets ahead. Scored 33.5 (undermarked...certainly as good if not better than Kimberley)

Bez and Angela. Indiana Jones. Well what can I say? Still skating with helmet on. No content, unsteady. Overmarked with a score of 18.

Brendan and Vanessa. Shallow from A Star Is Born. Beautiful skate. Bit surprised at Jayne and Chris only scoring 8's. I agreed with Ashley's score of 9. Scored 33.5.

Skate off

Rachel and Brendyn and Ria and Lucasz.

Rachel and Brendyn are saved.

Will Bez's fans please stop saving him. It's  beyond a joke!

Next Week. Dance Week.

I missed the majority of the show bar Brendan's. Thought he could be a little more fluid in transitions but its only week 2. Will need to watch the rest later this week as some of the clips did look good. Wasn't impressed by either pair in the skate-off and I probably would have saved Bez. Rachel was the right decision though it wasn't on skating ability was it.

As for Bez, "...should have been Bez" is a perfect t-shirt slogan. Available at my shop for £9.99 for the next 3 weeks only. Also available: water melons.

If the T shirt has a pair of maracas and a watermelon helmet then I'll buy it @sheepdog. No idea why he wears the helmet anyway, it's not as if he is going to land on his head anytime soon. 😂

The day he skates on the ice without it, no doubt the judges will score him 30 😂

I see Rowetta was in the audience supporting him.

My opinion -

I was looking forward to Regan and Karina skating to Singing In The Rain and was not disappointed, as they

gave the best performance of the night, althought the judges underscored them.

Brendan and Vanessa did a brilliant routine but, sorry, don`t agree with Ashley giving them the first 9. It seems to me that the judges have already decided Brendan is the best [remember Chris`s comment after his first skate?].

Connor and Alexandra - very good skate and again underscored by the judges.

The surprise of the night, for me, was Kimberley and Joe, who opened the show with a great skate and they could be real competition for Brendan, Regan and Connor.

As for the weakest performances - Bez by a mile. It`s only his fan base keeping him in the competition not his ability. To be a bit controversal, the same could be said of Sally, who didn`t let go of her partner and kept leaving the ice to step on the trolley - hardly riviting stuff and only kept in by Corrie fans, in my opinion.

In skate-off, Rachel did better skate than Ria and agree of the two Ria should be the one voted off.

An avid watcher of Strictly Come Dancing, there are a few dances there that are never used. 😂

However, am really looking forward to my favourite dance, the Argentine Tango. (Hard enough when danced normally. Never seen it attempted on skates!

Thanks for post on dances and songs @Cleoriff

I`m not really an expert on dances but, from what you say, it looks like Kimberley is really going for it with a difficult dance on ice and if she pulls it off will be serious competition for Brendan, Connor and Regan.

As for Bez doing a highland fling 😂 - OMG he can hardly stand up on the ice, so this should be funny to watch and wonder what head gear he`ll wear this time.
