Community Spotlight

Hey guys,

Its time to focus the spotlight on another community member. This time around its @gmarkj is under the spotlight! gmarkj has been a member of the O2 community since March 2014 and has been a regular contributor across the whole forum.

We asked him a selection of questions to help you all get to know him better.

What’s your name and where are you from?

Gary Johnson, originally from Bedford but living in Rushden.

Favourite thing about the forum/what do you like best?

The fact that no matter the time, there will be someone on answering a question or posting something completely random.

Why did you join the 02 forums?

To find out about a promotion that was running.

Apple, Android or Windows?

Android. Choice, even if sometimes it might not be what you thought.

Favourite movie/TV show/actor?

Film – Dark Knight or Mr Holland’s Opus.
TV Show – IT Crowd, The Walking Dead or Russell Howard's Good News
Actor – David Tennant

Who's the most famous person you have met?

Derren Brown (briefly).

Do you have any pets?

Two cats, some fish and a hamster. Although technically the hamster is my daughters…

Cats or dogs which do you prefer and why?

I like both, but if I had to pick I would say dogs. The only better greeting when you get home than one from a dog is from a young child.

What is your zombie apocalypse plan?

Help my neighbours fortify our street and then stock up on fuel and food. Grow a Herschel style beard and learn how to shoot!

Favourite meal?

Roast dinner or good curry.

Future developments in mobile tech your looking forward to?

Better battery life – always looking for a charging point gets a bit tedious!

Hobbies besides mobile?

Reading, films/TV, music, family.

Awesome answers thanks gmarkj!

Hi @gmarkj

Great to have you around. Welcome

You seem very knowledgeable about techy stuff.....do you work with technology or just grown up with it (so to speak)

Edited to remark...Blimey...you have been around the forum for 2 years? Doesn't time fly?Bouncy

A bit of both to be honest @Cleoriff.
Some is from studies at school/uni, others is courses for work but most is just trial and error or our friend el goog.
My job is quite techy (MIS Manager) and involves about 3 different systems and pulling together information and reports.
Plus who doesn't love a gadget?

Edit - yeah, joined a long time ago (about the Sony headphone promo in 2014) but wasn't really very active until about last year.

Now using the LG V30.

Well I am not at all techy (unless its medical technology...but not much point explaining the workings of a resuscitation ventilator on here LOL)

Oh and I am slowly growing to love gadgets....something I would have laughed myself silly about 4 years ago...

Anyway as said... great to have you around...Smiley Wink

You might not be as techy as some but there will always be someone who doesn't know as much as you.
Plus you have an advantage of being on here longer and seemingly know more about the (odd) ways of working o2 has...
