Hi everyone,

This week again, a lot of great tickets are being released on Priority :music: On Wednesday, don't miss out on tickets for Richard Ashcroft's performance in London later this year!

English Singer and songwriter, Richard Ashcroft was one of the founders of the alternative rock band The Verve back in 1990. Following the band's split, he started a solo career and has since then released several successful albums.

The tickets on sale will be for the following date:

2 November 2018 - O2 Forum Kentish Town

Any of you interested in this gig? What is your favourite Richard Ashcroft or Verve song? :smiley:

Loved the Verve and some classic tracks on Urban Hymns, Bitter Sweet Synphony, Lucky Man, The Drugs don't work, Sonnet etc. Richard Ashcroft in all honesty was The Verve. Being into Indie, that is one concert I would like to see.

I agree with @jonsie that Richard Ashcroft WAS the Verve. Loved them.

Problem is, I don't like that song of his own (in the clip shown in the OP).

My all time favourite was The Drugs Dont Work, a song he wrote for his girlfriend who died of a drugs overdose.

This performance at Glastonbury in 2008 was absolutely stunning. (My son was there)

@jonsie & @Cleoriff

I'm also more familiar with the Verve than with his solo career ... love both songs you posted    Your son must have had a fantastic time at Glastonbury @Cleoriff, that's an awesome performance - did either of you guys get to see the band live??

No @EmilieT Only live perfomances on the TV....(not quite the same).

The Verve were a vastly under-rated band in my opinion.

I agree, a recorded or stremed performance never compares to a live one ... but better than missing out completely I guess!

I've been going back and listening to some of their songs since posting this topic :music: :hugging:
