why was I charged £1.08p for two photos I sent to my daughters o2 phone.  I have free txts and have only had the phone for 1 month!!!!

Picture messages are MMS not standard SMS texts and are charged extra.

Media messages are not included in your tariff @Morag-Munto 

Photos are best sent using email, Whatsapp or Messanger as they will then be free.

@Morag-Munto Photos sent by text are classified as MMS and sent using data, which is chargeable.
