Question about upgrade

Hi, I want to upgrade to the IPhone 11 via the O2 app. I still have 4 months left on my current contract, and when I chose my plan for the iPhone 11, it came up with “my device plan”, saying “Left to pay on existing contract, this includes a 100% discount for upgrading to O2 Refresh” and then underneath it says “Upfront £0.00”

What does this mean? I’m sorry if this is a stupid question, I haven’t upgraded my phone before and it sounds like I don’t have to pay the existing 4 months of my contract. Can anyone confirm this?

If you had your current phone from Carphone Warehoue, O2 are paying to upgrade you so you can upgrade for free.
