unordered sim mess up!!

Anonymous
Not applicable

I'm very dissatisfied, I never ordered a sim nor did I want to have to go to the 02 shop new years eve get a replacement sim which still isn't working I left my daughter for a trip to London had no internet as the sim mess up messed my new year up.
3 hours spent finding where I had to go as I had no Sat nav and rely on my phone. Couldn't speak to my family contact my poorly daughter and spent hours in the cold lost.

Absolutely disgusted with the service as soon as my contract is up if not before I will be cancelling.
Protocol should be in place so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Regards Daniel

I posted my problem has nothing but grief! I ended up having no network don't know why I was sent a new sim without requesting one! I've repeated myself so many times. Nothing but negative comments. I just posted a query my anger to being without a phone on new yrs eve. And still. Through o2s mess up. I DID NOT ORDER A SIM.

I haven't lost my phone I can't possibly understand why a new sim had been ordered. Simple.

That's fair enough danella29

As customers ourselves like your good self we won't 100% know either.

Communication between you and O2 should clear this up.

At the risk of getting involved in a thread that has gone full circle, it would be helpful if you stepped back and thought about what people are saying on here trying to help you at this difficult time.

I have read all 10 pages of it and one thing is clear. You didn't order a sim. But all other questions from those on here trying to help were largely not answered so we were unable to assist.

Have I got the thread right in this SPECIFIC order:

1. Your mobile stopped working
2. You received an email thanking you for your order (for a sim card).
3. You went into an o2 store as you had no network coverage.
4. O2 store replaced your sim
5. Still no network.

I ask about specifics because if you got your email about the new sim AFTER you went into store then that is how o2's systems work. If a sim card is issued it generates an order.

If points 1-5 above are correct in that specific order, then the advice given is correct.

6. Go back to an o2 store to sort it
7. Call o2 on 202 or 0344 8090202

If in points 1-5 above you were sent an unsolicited email about a new sim then it might just be that someone reported their phone stolen for example and CS accidentally linked it to your number / sim. Human error does happen. Of course it doesn't help you in the middle of the situation you were in but just being sensible and reflective for a moment. The only way you will know why a new sim was ordered is to speak to CS.

In the meantime it sounds like the sim in your phone may not yet have activated. I read you have turned your phone on and off (i.e. completely off not just turning the screen off - it happens! ) so if that hasn't resolved it then again it needs CS intervention.

Please help us to help you by giving complete (non personal) information. We are unable to assist if your only answer is "I didn't order a sim". The fact is that for whatever reason something has happened. You don't know what. We can't know what as we don't have access to your account. It will be sorted and if O2 are at fault then you should ask o2 for a goodwill gesture for the inconvenience but please try to be clear with what you tell CS. They will need full detail to investigate. I would recommend you call CS in the morning. I believe they open at 8am.

Then check both sims to see whether either one is working.  Simple.  You are being very rude to the people here who are trying to help you.

I am trying, belive me I am trying.  Most of the others have already left this thread.

Why can't she just try one thing at a time and tell us if it works or not.

At least we know that she DID NOT ORDER A SIM!!!

Apart from that, it is a mystery.

I guess it started as a network/mast issue, and some idiot in a shop, not understanding a word she was saying, just gave her a new sim, which has not been activated anyway.  So now she is using a bogus sim, and even though the mast has come back on-line l, she is without service.

If she would just settle down for 2 minutes and speak in a calm and polite manner, it could be resolved easily.  She probably has the old, registered sim right there, just waiting to be put in.

I have offered all the help, time, and patience I can, and been insulted in return.
