have you ever thought- that if O2 had the handsets----- why in the world would they not give it to you?
Apple maufacturers suddenly stopped making the handset and they were uncertain as to when they would get some.
you bout a handset made from apple- not O2 and they get shippments from apple - not O2 so instead of looking for compensation... why don't you explore the fact that these people are still attempting to make everyone happy.
the best compo you'll get is a excess refund and even then you're making this much noise over a phone that broke anyway/or you lost/ or was stolen and you got a replacement.... is it all worth it. Its not even principal... you're all quite ungrateful - some people dont even have the chance to afford a mobile let alone get a replacement.
I hope O2 gives u compensation.... of your £25 excess and have the initative cancel your policy with it.
(rolling my eyes sighing)

Under the Premium Insurance policy you are guaranteed new for old replacement. If they don't have your phone they should be offering a phone with at least equal specs but NEW, not a refurb. The policy was sold to me with that as a benefit.

When I was on the phone to the listening company today I could hear someone in the background being offered alternative handsets as they couldn't provide the same model.

Are iPhone customers being punished because of the monetary value of the phone?

Well done folks. I'm heading out but have an email to call back to O2 exec complaints. Assuming it will be a negative response but at least it exhausts that avenue and I can then go further.

Well done richierich - im pleased that you got somewhere after the grief you received from o2's shameless show of indifference.

I have had an odd day, an acknowledgement letter from ACE to a letter I sent 2 and a half weeks ago saying they will look at it!

My complaint form was received by the FSA yesterday - not had an acknowledgement yet though, and another email from the complaints review service simply attaching the new terms and conditions lol. The left hand really doesnt know what the right hand is doing :womanindifferent:

My phone broke, reported it, had no iphone 3g 8gb's in stock, said they would call when in stock to arrange delivery date, no call, went on hol, still no call, came back to find 2 failed delivery's!!!! Phone went back to sender.

Called O2 insure, they passed me to someone else. Delivery dept said phone would have been reassigned and would have to wait again! I complained that I did not get a call - how can I be there for the delivery if I don't get told when it's being delivered?!!!

So made an official complaint, that took over a week. Been charged the excess of 25 pounds I can see. They are going to make a credit in next months bill... some small amount.

It's mid July now - This started in MAY! STILL NO IPHONE!!! So tonight I send ANOTHER email to o2 saying I just want to cancel my contract early. I am SO ANGRY.

I just want to leave this appalling company now as I've paid my bills, my 10 pound month insurance and my excess even before my phones arrived with me!

Absolute rubbish.

Happy ending for me.

Spoke to a really helpful person at the CEO complaints and will have the iPhone 3GS 8GB probably by the beginning of next week. Checked the orders section on my account and it's deffo brand new as promised. Was told it was a one off gesture of goodwill as my original phone was a 3G. Fair enough, thanks to the people involved in getting my problem resolved and richie, matt, ronald for the updates. Hope everyone gets the resolution they deserve.
