But you are not covering the golden chip with the card, are you?Because that will stop the phone from reading the sim card...

I'm fairly sure this is your problem. The sim should fit into the slot as per the diagram on the sim holder. It goes inside, gold contacts down.

Hello Jonsie

Please confirm I should be using a micro chip. One Google answer from way back said Standard??

I can confirm gold contacts down, little cut out at the bottom right hand edge.

As far as I know the s3 mini takes a standard size sim. When you were supplied with the sim card it should have been a dual or triple type. Put the sim back in the carrier and try it.

I DON'T BELIEVE IT. Not shouting at you

Have been using a micro all this time.

I have had so many phone calls to customer services and I am pretty sure I have pit that question to them too and they confirmed micro.

Can I cobble it together to make the standard do you think

My daughter has Galaxy 4, I expect that's why she went for the micro.

Putting it together with a little sellotape on the non contact surface and you should be good to go.
