I lost service about 4pm and after switching off 3 or four times I checked the 02 website to see if any notices about faults. When I didnt see anything obviously there, I contacted my sister who lives just a mile away and her o2 service is working. I therfore put it down to a faulty phone. It was only on delving deeper into the o2 site that I found these discussions and find that many other people are having the same problem all round the country. Why oh why have o2 not put something prominent on their website to save all the wasted time and give us some idea how long the problem is going to last??????? EJ Accrington Lancs

Strange point of view, which network that never breaks down will you move to?

DREADFUL !!!! Your website information on the crash is worse than useless - I have had no service from several locations in the UK over the last 2 days. I just drove to Cherwell Valley Services as your website search says no problems with 3G or Voice at this location ...... Garbage, come here and try it !! NO SIGNAL AT ALL & NO 3G My company switched back to O2 for hundreds of employees a couple of weeks ago ....... now it is crippling our ability to trade If you are going to publish status information - get it right !

My Blackberry 9780 went off yesterday afternoon in Milton Keynes and stayed off all the way back to Liverpool. Annoying as I was late for my train back and my son had had an operation the day before and I was unable to contact home easily. It was still off (SOS only) this morning at 7:30 but came back at about 8 with GSM, GPRS and EDGE connection. My son's samsung SII went off yesterday afternoon in Liverpool but he is still in bed so I don't know if it is back. My wife's iphone 4 worked in Liverpool yesterday until about 9:30 pm last night and is still off this morning. We have 3 O2 phones and all affected. Do the thousands affected get into the thousands of thousands?

for the people who are demanding refund, firstlty O2 priority will be to get the network back online, afterwards they will look at compensation if any. But also even if they are going to offer soem goodwill gesture, do not expect something stupid like £10 a day! on all likehood it will be either a % of your monthly line rental bill (or monthly top up) or network average. ie if average user is on £30 a month they will give compensation to everyone on that figure so hence some will get a bit more, bit less but on average will get what will be class as fair..

If O2 do that, there will be no point going to court with more claim esp for say loss of earning cause I bet most who are saying that will be on consumer / pay as you go, the court will just throw it out.

About moving to a different network, they are all the same, with orange and T-mobile since the network merge of mast being terrible at least down here in Wales. But some of you are saying moving to Vodafone, vodafone has had similar issue in the past, and also in future will happen again esp since O2 and Vodafone are sharing their masts now and more so in the future.

About not paying the bill, if you go through that option you have to contact credit agency and put the "mark" as bill is in dispute, it will than get taken off. but it is alot of work and no guarantee..

Have checked the status page and according to my postcode, everything should be working fine !! However, despite turning my device on and off and briefly getting a signal, it rapidly went back to SOS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look again and scroll down the page, it's all been there since 2pm yesterday.

My god Perskie how many more times do I have to say this IT MAY HAVE BEEN ON THERE SINCE 2PM YESTERDAY BUT MOST OF US WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO GET INTO IT !!!!!! Saying this " its been all there since 2pm yesterday " is obviously trying to say " its there but you were too stupid to find it " Well on behalf of the stupid people, I did find it but COULDN'T OPEN IT ! Jeez how many more times do I have to say this !!
