🤑 haha tbh I'm with @jonsie the swathes of payback hunters on gg gets tiresome, especially those that reply to several ppl in separate posts, one after the other. It creates pages of inane 💩 replies and honestly just kills a sometimes interesting thread.

No different here tbh.

Aww come on @MI5 you've got to admit there's much less of it here? It's rare I see the kinds of crapola here that goes on over there...

I mean it's rife over there, this place is a breath of fresh air compared to gg.

I can remember this place in the days when people came here because they wanted to help before the rewards were introduced.

But surely even now, the rewards are quite insignificant unless you put in loads of effort. I pop over here every so often to catchup and help if I see a question that I can answer.

I have noticed though we've been getting a few more newbies dropping in, but I still don't see the kind of "gaming" I see on gg in attempts to earn rewards.

Maybe I'm not here enough to notice it though. I can imagine that it was a more altruistic place before rewards. How long have they been given here?

Rewards are an added bonus. Back in the old days we came here to essentially help fellow customers in the way of advice and how o2s  systems work. Rewards are an added bonus that whilst welcome, do detract from the people who have over the years given up their time and whose sole pleasure was to get a thank you.

You only have to look at some of the nonsensical threads started at month end to see that some are merely milking a system that now seems set up to justify people's jobs by generating forum traffic which it does so by dangling the credit as a carrot. I've seen some people rewarded for a couple of posts in an effort to make this another form of social media. We all now post garbage whilst waiting to help genuine customers who have a problem or a grievance.

My views, whilst my own, are surely echoed by the members all too willing to be at one time, the second line of customer service but has now become quite possibly the first place to come for anything non - account related or some inane banter.

This forum, with or without rewards, has always been another type of 'educational establishment' for me. I love learning new stuff. Hopefully I always will.
