Turning Off Voice Mail

I have tried calling 1760 but this seems to have no effect
Ideally l would like to be able to leave a message but not allow any messages to be left
Any ideas

What happens now when you 1760 is voicemail still active?
You may need to ring ustomerservices explain the issue and they may have to reset things there end.
