Simplicity sim cards

These may seem like odd questions but I have a good reason for asking them!
Do o2 send out simplicity sim cards unsolicited? Would a simplicity sim card be included in a new iPhone 4 box (2 year contract)? Is the only way to get a simplicity sim card to have paid for it?

1 Not unsolicted
2 no as simplicity is not for supply with a handset (sim only contract)
3 No you can request on line or in an o2 store sim is free

thanks for the prompt response.
So I'm clear - you can be in possession of a simplicity sim which has no value on in it, and you can then activate it. I just need to be sure that you don't have to have paid for a simplicity sim card before you receive it.

from memory, the packaging said pay as you go

you can request a free simplicity payg sim from the website (up to 2) but it will not be a micro sim (iphone 4 needs) best popping into an o2 store and they may want you to top it up to activate it

thanks for your help - my questions were really driven by trying to work out how someone who already has an iPhone 4 contract would also have a simplicity payg sim card that they claim not to have ordered 😮

When I upgraded a payg sim was included in the package as a courtesy, believe the hope is that you will pass it on to someone else, my first O2 phone came with FIVE payg sims in addition to my own.

I have never received a sim with an upgrade (even my iphone4) but then we are a business customer

Yes when you upgrade you get a "hand me down" sim, so you can give the sim (and maybe your old phone) to someone.
