Say Goodbye to Unlimited Data Tariffs

Anonymous

Looks like O2 are going to follow AT&T's lead by getting rid of the Unlimited Data tariffs for smartphones and iPhones.

Doesn't even look like they're goig to do an unlimited data bolt on!

This could get very expensive!

Just found this on Which Website

guy's does this statment not mean that if you upgrade before the 1/10/2010 that you get unlimited data?

Unlimited data on all smartphone tariffs is a promotion until 1 October 2010. Excessive usage policy and terms apply, see

Yes, thats 102mb then. So if you use WiFi more often than not, it doesn't say much about the 500mb limit does it?

Just saw the following on Yahoo finance page:

"Under typical data usage, 500 megabytes amounts to watching 60 YouTube videos. It also amounts to downloading 50 music tracks or looking at 5,000 web pages"

60 Videos?
50 Tracks?
5000 Web Pages?

Is that all?!?

For those who uses apps like spotify, LastFm, Sky Anytime or even TVCatchup, things are going to get expensive!

Hard to do I know, but perhaps we should all turn away from such phones and return to straight forward phones with just calls and texts. Would only need to do so for about six months before the penny dropped with O2 and the others

Question. Is this 500mb per month or over the period of the contact, ie 1 / 2 years ?

Monthly, reset and monitored on a monthly basis, as far as I can tell.
