Say Goodbye to Unlimited Data Tariffs

Anonymous

Looks like O2 are going to follow AT&T's lead by getting rid of the Unlimited Data tariffs for smartphones and iPhones.

Doesn't even look like they're goig to do an unlimited data bolt on!

This could get very expensive!

Just found this on Which Website

As the terms of our contracts are being altered quite substantially, I would hope that we would be able to leave with out penalty

Isn't there a 14 or 30 day cooling off period in law, so you can cancel and get your money back? Anyone verify?

As Wanty says you do not have to change your contract at all, it is only if you want a subsidised upgrade or contract pay off that you would then have to accept the new contracts. If you want to pay the proper price for the phone free and clear you can keep your old contract.

Such a shame, just when I thought the upgrade offer was a good one, but these new tarif's and data limits have changed everything!

Myself and about 15+ friends of mine are all leaving O2 because of this!

Even tho the tarif's have gone up i still would have stayed, but not with data caps, no chance, i mean why are they not even offering an unlimited data bolt on???

Bye bye O2, i hope you realise hoe many customers you are losing

It seems that most people on here are up in arms. Are people really aware of how much data they are using. Simply check your online bills and you'll probably be shocked at actually how little you use.

97% of customers use less then 500mb, 2% of customers use more than 500mb but less than 1gb and 1% of O2 customers use more than 1gb and actually account for 36% of all O2's data traffic! What the hell are these people doing, probably using their phones as a mobile modem.

Granted I do think that O2 should have acted upon these customers sooner as it is part of the terms and conditions of the tarrifs that everything is based on fair usage and 36% of all data usage for only 2000 customers is not fair usage in my book.

For someone like myself the data that will be provided on the same tarrif I am currently on will be a 1gb and this will more than cover my day to day usage of the iphone and I'm not a light user at all however I think people really need to take a look at their usage before they start thinking this is a bad thing when it probably won't effect them.
