Im so confused now im on a 18months contract with o2 but i did it through Phones4u, i have only 2 months left on my contact but i would like to pay off the contract and start a new plan with the new iphone 4 but when i was reading the terms and conditions it says: This Early Upgrade Offer (the "Offer") is available to you if you're an existing consumer Pay Monthly or Business customer (who signed up in an O2 Shop or through o2.co.uk) on O2 who is still within the minimum term of their contract (an "Eligible Customer"). that means i cant use the offer then because i didnt do it with o2 directly, am i right or not??

It does rather sound like you're not going to be able to do it. Best bet is just call O2 and ask them directly.

PLEASE NO!!! I have a printout in my hands from approximatley a week ago which does not include the bracketed txt... yes 02 have gone over this and edited.

the reason i have a printout is because i took it to my local store and had the manager confirm with me that I was eligible for the upgrade offer since then me and my partner have sent in our 3gs handsets to iphone recycle.

im fuming!!

please if anyone else has any information???

it seems weird that you can do the uprade in phones 4 u carphone etc..

you should be able to if its from phones 4 u, as you shoudl be on the same systems as the O2 stores use.

but it will be a different story if you went through carphone, as you will be on a different system, which is not accessible through the o2 store

All that says is that if you're a business customer you need to have signed up directly with O2, not through a third party.
So it doesn't apply to you lot.

I upgraded through CPW last time and I have been told I can pay off my contract and sign a new one and get an iPhone 4 on Thursday in the shop with no probem! In fact the nice salesman is putting one under the counter for me! I am not a business customer.

I did wonder if that statement referred to the Business Customers but it's not totally clear!

I went into an 02 store and watched their staff tell many customers that the upgrade offer has to be completed on the day but before you go into the 02 shop...when they come to me i quoted all of the terms and conditions and that they should do the upgrade offer for me "in the shop"

the guy didnt look pleased and his colleague confirmed with me yes this is all possible

so thats just a warning guys i dont know if the upgrade offer is a long one but the staff i spoke to today were trying to deter people from doing it instore, lazy men! be firm!!

anyway back to the subject my partner who joined via carphone ...CAN upgrade via the upgrade offer in an o2 store this was confirmed in an o2 store today.

Read this link

should answer the questions to early upgrade questions.

Plus it doesn't matter where you got your current phone from as long as you are with o2 the early upgrade offer will be available.
