The price rise that’s coming is not lawful. I’m going to try and leave o2 because they are being very greedy in upping the price £2.50 when OFCOM states you aren’t allowed to.

Yes it is lawful and OFCOM stated no such thing
Plenty of articles on this both here and in the press.
Just leave.
Follow the instructions in the email you were sent which are:-
Call us for free from your O2 mobile on 202 if you’re a Pay Monthly customer. Otherwise, it’s 0344 809 0202 from any other phone.

I am leaving too. To be fair, I run two phones, 6gb data, and it will cost £14.50. Now that is cheap but as @ 6/11/25 lebara has a deal sim only which runs out tomorrow. I will save £100 per year! I never use my data ever so reducing to 5gb isnt going to hurt me. Im going to ring O2 to haggle but a saving of £100 a year sounds good.

You don't need to announce your leaving... Just call up o2 and get your PAC code, as it tells you in the email and go join Lebara

Dont bother calling O2.
They dont offer new customer deals to existing customers.
I know I tried but after waiting 45 minutes to be answered I was told that they cannot offer me the new customer contract in spite of the 02 pledge to do so. The contracts offered to existing customers are either more expensive or less content than Im already on or extended contract time with a promise of a decount in the future?. Can anyone really believe that they have any intentions of honoring that promise????
It's simple a p*ss take TBH, but thats what O2 is doing.
A company that makes pledges and then ignores them is a company that has no respect for its customers.
I expect madasaf1sh will have a snide comment about my post as usual when someone mentions leaving his beloved O2.

@Reboot If you think O2 is @madasaf1sh beloved network you are very mistaken.

All the regular posters on here have the same opinion of O2 as yourself
It's simple really....look for alternatives that give you the best options and benefits for yourself
That holds true in everything you buy or take out contracts or subscriptions
At the moment, as has been for the last few years, O2 is crap value and gives no benefits
Don't even mention Priority as that is 99% a waste of time and both the other mainstream providers offer their own versions of it

I think @Reboot (aka Richard Allen) you will find, I have been giving people references of where to go to get better deals for weeks.. as im sure @Enlli @jonsie will atest too..
I only use o2, as its the best signal for me, and I get a nice discount through my work... so the price rise makes SFA difference to me...
