I want to report that the form to add an American Express card is broken.

The system correctly recognizes that the card is AMEX and it requires 4 digit CVV.

But the web form is locked to 3 digits.

The error message says please provide the 4 digit CVV - but form is limited to 3 digits.

Anyone has a workaround?

O2 can you please report this to your Web Site Devs? It's an easy fix to change the max length of the field from 3 to 4.

Thanks!

@Marjo ?
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Here is the error - the field is only 3 characters (it has to be 4).

When you click submit it says Enter your 4-digit security number.

So the page is smart enough to understand that it is an AMEX and it needs 4 digits but the CVV field doesn't support this...

Hi. This problem still exists. It's not possible to purchase anything using an American Express card on the O2 website because the form will not accept 4-digit security numbers (which Amex cards have). I wanted to buy a phone a few months ago but had to go elsewhere sadly. Just checked it again and the problem is still there.

They probably don't want to accept AMEX due to the high fees they charge retailers.

@theredviper  I'm sorry to hear you're having the same issue! Last time it was reported, we were not able to identify a wider problem but I will check what I can find about this now and get back to you as soon as I know more.

Thanks for the mention @Cleoriff :slight_smile:
