Is live chat offline to everyone or is it just me please? I really need to contact them and can't call them from my phone just now.

@Jenniwren

999 will still work even without a signal.

Check this thread for help with phone issues Guide: Is the network down for me or everyone?

Thanks for this but I don't want to have to call 999 is one if my carers could help me. Our emergency services are stretched to the limit as it is and if I fall and just can't get up again one of my carers could be here in minutes where as I will have to wait for many hours for an ambulance, especially as it's Friday night, as it wouldn't be classed as an emergency.

If a phone is really vital to you, you should have a landline too.
Mobile phones should never be 100% relied upon.

Double whammy, oops!  I can see why you are concerned., @Jenniwren.

Out of interest, has your mobile/O2 phone only recently been brought back into service, and is it a PAYG phone? (ie it sits in a drawer because you have a working, although dead at the moment, land-line)?

My thought is that the SIM may have become deactivated as you haven't made a call or sent an SMS with it for the last 6 months.
