Dell Streak 2.2 Froyo Update on O2

Just got 2.2 anyone know how to get the bar back with had the quick on and off buttons for wi fi etc?

The link has been moderated. Apparently O2 doesn't want us to use it. It's a bit late though and a bit of a shame since it worked well... Anyway I got it so I'm glad lol.

Happy last, once over initial boot bug and having installed and purchased launcherpro and rid of dell stage, well now I have a device thats has an OS that is realising the potential of the hardware platform.
Sad to say in the future I wont be using the official route to update my streak, I will risk unofficial updates. Dell why did you release the streak with and OS that has possibly hindered your market share? And why delay it further by adding the stage UI, which to be honest detracts from the functionality and is totally embarressed by a free/cheap app, such as launcherpro?


O2 why do you fail to communicate effectively with your customers?
This update will be a revalation to many users. Hopefully this forum has served its purpose and everyone can feel as satisfied with their streak as I now am. I jumped from iPhone (1st and 2nd gen) to the streak and at last I feel that decision was the right call

Since i updated using the .pkg file that was from the DELL link. i cannot get onto the internet. I have checked all the settings i think will cause this but it doesn't work.

Hi all,
I've updated my Streak and was very happy with the new update, but the battery died on the phone - naturally not because of the update - when I have charged it up this morning the phone is not going beyond the "DELL" start up screen. Any ideas why this might be, any toips on how to factory reset or similar, I like the DELL logo but after looking at it for the last hour I'm starting to dislike it a lot.
Please help.

Im a really a dumb person wen it come to tech I got no OTA so I went to dell and downloaded the file, sent it to ma desktop on my laptop but aint a clue how to send it over to my streak?
Also can someone just explain it like im 5

Yeah, it says it closed unexpecedly when I just told it to close. Anyone else get this force close?

Im going to send my dell back to o2 and just say its not fit for purpose tbh, All we want is what has been promised for bloody months, we have OTA updates hitting handset willy nilly, some people have to resort to downloading the update themselves, then we have freezes, UI, and problems even tho they have been working on the update since AUG
All i want is to have 2.2 on the handset little or no bugs and well I dont want to wait to possibly JAN 12th!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try to remove and put again the battery.
If it doesn't work try to find a recovery file for 2.2 and put it at the root of your SD and start a recovery.
If thess two solutions do not work google Qualcomm QDS Diagnostic (you will need ADB drivers) and find a good tutorial. Note that this is not official and maybe not approved by o2/dell. But I can say that several people had the same problem, you are not alone.
