hey I am an international student and unfortunately my visa is expiring soon and I may have to go home if I cant get an extension. Is there a way of getting my contract terminated because I would have to leave the country as per the immigration laws soon? An urgent reply will be appreciated.

The only wy is to pay off the contract in full ie. number of months remaining x monthly tariff.
I'm surprised you got a contract if you knew your visa was going to expire before the minimum term was completed.

No sorry, you could pass it on to someone else, but you would still be liable for the payments.

I was at a probation period at a job and it didn't work out. Anyway, is there no other way of solving this conundrum? What if i paid for the phone?

You could sell the phone as it's yours and not part of the deal, and use the money to pay part of the contract.
O2 have a recycling scheme but you would probably get more privately.

What's a likely penalty of skipping the contract? Do I get a bad credit flag once I am back in the country again and trying to buy something?

Yes a bad credit rating and almost impossible to get anything else such as a mortgage.

I don't know if there's such a thing as credit ratings in other countries(presume so) but its feasible that it would affect any kind of rating you have over there.
Collection from someone skipping the country is somthing I've had experience in unfortunatly:(

I doubt my conscience will allow me to leave by skipping a contract. Would it not be possible if I paid a certain amount of termination fee?
