It should be easy enough to move your email to a new provider, more help and advice here:

My O2 email has been my default contact point for years, since the 'Genie' days. Due this penny pinching decision, of which we only got 7 weeks notice (6 or 12 months would have shown greater respect for loyal customers), I will be moving not only my email, but also all other O2 services to another provider.
I am very brand loyal, and keep spending for a service that I like even though there may be cheaper options. The flip side of my position is that I expect some loyalty in return. This is the third time that O2 have seriously irritated me. Enough is enough. I'm off as soon as I can be.
Therefore, O2 will be losing my extended family's business completely.
"I am very brand loyal" ,is how I feel about using my ISP B.T.
Yes their are cheaper alternatives but I have faith in the service, and like you my e mail address has been with me for years, and is used all over the place.
If you have lost faith then you cant be blamed for wanting to move.

I am also annoyed at losing my o2 email account. I use it for a lot of things. It has annoyed me further after also having to either lose or pay for my btinternet account as well.
However, I have tried to export my contacts as in the guru video but it downloads a downloader file and won't open in excel properly.
Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
