I have an Android phone with a pay as you go SIM and automatic roaming. I spend a lot of time in France and have always been able to make phone calls both to the UK an within Europe until this week. I can receive in coming calls, SMS, emails and WhatsApp are functioning as usual. When I try to phone a voice message from France Bouygues Telecom tells me my account does not support calls. After hours talking to o2 customer services has not resolved or diagnosed the problem. Any hints?

Try manually searching for a different network, Sfr, OrangeF etc as you need to find a working 3g signal to makes calls on O2 PAYG.

Most French networks have shut down 3G.
In some places Orange still works, but they are few and far between.

Looks like you may have fallen foul of the Fair Use Policy, which includes PAYG, where the Sim can only be used in the EU for 63 days out of 120 days, as its not meant for permanent roaming, and if you have have credit it will be used to pay for the data use unless connected to WiFi.
