Age Verification

Why am I asked for my age when surfing the net?  I am over 18 and have been for years.  Surely o2 has this information as I have been a customer for many years.  Also, when I tried to follow the age verification procedure I was asked for my bank details.  Is this a scam?  I hope not.

Your credit card details prove your age.

Or go into an O2 store with I.d and they will lift it.

With recent stories in the media I think it's a good implementation by O2 to have this in place.
