Not good news for staff or customers if this is true!
Has to be said I'm pretty disgusted with O2 and really feel sorry for staff.

We're going to ensure services through Twitter are completely secure before we initiate it. The £50m investment commitment to digital forms of customer service is not just through Twitter alone but is split into webchat, store transformation, self-serve technology, o2.co.uk development and Guru TV. Hope that helps!
Thanks
Abs
I do feel O2 have their work cut out for themselves convincing people that using Twitter for purposes like this is a good thing. The idea of mixing a social network and something as confidential as my mobile phone contract details doesnt sit quite right with me but I hope they can pull it off.
In general tho this investment is a very good thing for the company, in this day and age to be a big player in the digital market you need an online profile which reflects your stature - and as we have seen on this forum many people feel certain aspects (such as webchat) need a bit of work. Hopefully a fair wedge of this investment goes towards training online advisors and Gurus so that they can deliver an even better service.

hi, I work in CS, answering queries on the form is tantamount to the same thing as twitter, less calls though voice. Less need for guys like us, business decision, tough but inevitable as we have been pushing customer self service for 2 years, victims of our own success I spose, anyway, onward and upward

Onward but not too sure the direction is upward. Gutted for all the O2 staff affected by this madness.

If O2 can't make a profit from their enormous turnover I would suggest they start by sorting out their accountants and management as this company is not being run effectively.

Telefonica are Spanish aren't they and Spain itself is deep in debt through the Euro so hence all this I'd reckon-if I'm right with all of this.
