Monthly Business Account paid

I was told by an advisor that my monthly bill was paid on the 9th of November however nothing came out my bank. They then attempted to take it out yesterday but failed and returned the direct debit. I am now being told they have no record of the direct debit attempt and that my account has been fully paid up which can’t be true since there was no money in bank. I did pay £100 bond on the phone and am worried they have used this instead. Any help before I go in to a store?
