Has anyone else experienced issues with 4G not working in Cardiff mainly. If I switch to 3G works fine. According to 02 there are no issues with 4G in Cardiff ? Any help would be appreciated. I'm using Android v9. Thanks !

It's an issue with congestion on the mast.

Fewer people will be using 3g hence it is faster.

4g will usually improve when less people are using it.

Thanks for that, if the phone is set to 2G/3G/4G Auto why would it not revert to 3G ? I have to manually set the phone to 3G in order to get it to work.

The phone will always connect to the highest signal it sees if the phone settings allow it.

It doesn't determine if it's the best signal to use though.

Cool, many thanks for that I wouldn't of thought about congestion. I support engineers around the UK and we have issues specifically in a few areas where 4G isnt working and I was running out of ideas ! Thanks

I still have issues with several 02 connections in cardiff. I am going onsite tomorrow to try and fix the issue. The 4G status at the top of the phone has a small x bottom right which means I think it has data connection but no connectivity. I have managed to replicate the issue just once. I'm going armed with lots of devices and SIMs to try and work out whats happening. 

 

Its stopping the techs being able to manage their jobs via Edge browser as the data keeps dropping, I'm hoping I can fix it soon !
