Woke up today and all of a sudden call barring has been enabled on my phone for out going calls only. I can recieve calls no problem. Furthermore, I cannot sent Text messages but can recieve them!!!

What is going on?! I cannot call O2 to get help! They don thave online chat (not that I can find on the convoluted website).

Data is working fine.

I have done a few searches, (android phone) tried going to call settings\supplementary Services\ call barring\voice calls\ and tried to change things there but no matter what I try I get 'call barring rejected' or 'something went wrong - check your sim card or network connection, then try again.'

Bounce test the handset???

Do you have an overdue payment @Barend

They usually restrict calls in those circumstances, eventually leading to a complete bar

If this isn't the case with your account you need to contact them

Download Skype and use it to call any of the free numbers in the link

choose any option

Hi @Barend

No idea why that has happened. You need to contact O2. If you can borrow a phone, use a landline or even Skype, then numbers to call are on this list Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support

Thanks for your quick reply!

All paid up so no problems there.

Its not the handset. I put the sim card in a spare phone and same problems.

Its not the network as I have another O2 simm and that works fine.

That means, randomly, call barring has been enabled on my sim card.

What the hell?

Glitch in the matrix, i'm looking for the cat now!

If it persists you will have no option but to call

one last thing

enter ##002# into the keypad and try dialling it.

The saga continues. I'm really getting very angry with all of this.

Turns out there is a fault on O2's side and no one can fix this.

So after the 4th phone call (from a private phone) last week I finally spoke to someone who knew what was going on. He did some checking and said he found the problem and rectified it. Apparelty there was a mixup on O2's side. This worked for 6 odd days and now its gone back to being barred and I have now recieved a letter saying I havent paid my accound eventhough I have paid up until next month!!!

I have not had any problems with O2 since 2007 and now all of a sudden everything is going wrong and no one can help..... I cannot make calls with this phone (back to call barring again), I cannot even call 8002 to try and sort this out. I dont have my spare phone on me.

Time to change network I think.

This is a very good example of how to loose customers.

All back up and running again.

How?

Phoned O2 Bussiness help with a collegues mobile. Nothing wrong on accounts side. Asked to turn off the handset then back on again.

It starts working again. Aparently this happens occasionally!?

Don't know

Gratefull its working, lets see how long it lasts.....

This time SIM Card not provisioned all of a sudden.

So tired of endless problems...

And again, no online chat and no one to phone....

Trying to run a business with this service is proving a real challenge.

Update - Called O2 from another O2 mobile. They could not explain why my SIM Card has been disconnected. I tried a Sim swap which activated them immediatelly got disconnected. The help center then activated the card from thier end and it appears to be working again...

I fear this is not going to end soon...

Lets see how long it lasts this time around....
