iphone dropping calls

My iphone 7 keeps dropping out of calls mid conversation... This has only happened since updating to IOS 11 and I suspect it is happening only when someone on another iphone calls me although this may not be the case.

 

In addition, the battery life since IOS 11 is now shockingly crap and ONLY when I am talking to someone else on an iphone the the speech can become distorted like it is being impacted on by (for example) an electric current.. I cannot think of a better way to describe it.

 

I am starting to lose faith in my Apple products!

 

Is anyone else having these issues

Have you tried a full back up and restore?

There have been battery issues with iOS 11 but hopefully 11.1 released this week will alleviate the issue. It also sounds like a faulty mic or speaker maybe at fault or a loose connection.
