iphone 6+ delays on O2

Just wanted to drag this out of the main pre-order thread.

 

Managed to Order an iphone 6+ this morning in store.  Helpful chap promised it would be available for  launch next Friday.

 

upon processing the Order I received an email from O2 confirming the Order but stating delivery for 7th october.

 

I telephoned the store and told the chap and he checked with someone higher up and confirmed that date is correct (in fact the manager he spoke with actually thought it was later; O2 dont have any stock of 6+ in any variant until October).

 

This has happened to a couple of otehr people who have upgraded instore.

 

Has anybody received confirmation of an earlier delivery date for a 6+ who has either ordered instore or online/phone?

 

Seems to me O2 could have been a bit clearer about vailability of the 6+

Man, that's harsh... 😞 Out of interest though, where are you seeing the estimated delivery time? Is it on your My Orders page or are they in your order confirmation email?

Well unless the op changes bank or uses another bank account or hopefully his bank systems change so they don't clash next time.

Will that do you MI5 or can I sometimes just be civil and act as a sounding board ?

What was the security problem? Usually as long as the billing address matches those entered and the details are correct, sufficient credit etc, O2's system is usually ok. It's more likely a security check by your bank, maybe out of your normal spending pattern?

Hi, has anyone been able to confirm if the stores will have iPhone 6+ stock on top of any pre-orders they have already taken? I don't mind queuing for a bit on Friday morning but just don't want it to be wasted time 😞

 

I asked the online chat people who said "yes they will" but the instore manager said he had no idea until launch day.

Even if surplus stock was available, it wouldn't be the same for every store, so you would have to check with the specific store you are wanting to buy from.
