Is anybody else having issues with their Wi-Fi connection? I noticed that my Wi-Fi goes on and off more times then the bloody light switch.

The wifi on ios devices sleeps when the screen locks is this when you see the drop?

If you leave it connected to a charger the wifi will stay active.

I wasn't aware of that, thank you.  I will try taking the lock off and see what happens.

Ok.... lets try forgetting this network.

Go to settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings.

Rejoin you home WiFi and test again.

OK, when I'm next on the ipad I will try this and let you know.  Cheers.

Exactly !

Are you talking about the wifi function on your handset or the wifi from your home broadband router ?

Sorry, I should have been more clear. The Wi-Fi connection on my iPhone and iPad can be very intermittent. I've changed the settings on my router, but that doesn't seem to have made much of a difference. So I was just wondering if anybody else had this issue.

You say intermittent can you explain what exactly happens and any error messages.

What settings in the router did you change and what make of router.

I assume your devices have the latest version of ios?

Something you could try.

In your settings on your iPhone and iPad, go to WiFi and click the little blue symbol next to the name of your home WiFi.

Move the top option over to auto connect.

Thanks to all who replied.  In answer to the questions:

Nothing happens per se, just that the wifi connection goes AWOL and drops.  It resumes after a while, no error messages.

What settings in the router did you change and what make of router.

Router is o2's latest and the settings I changed were the channels, tried a few different ones, some worked better than others.

yes

This drop in connection is particularly annoying because it causes the airplay speaker to cut out and the airplay icon to drop, again that too resumes...after a while.

I'm not seeing any such auto connect option.  These images are a screenshot of what I see
