I tried to swap to a micro sim card yesterday afternoon 4pm. My old sim card died later last night. But my new sim card is still not working yet. My number has not been recognized for over 12 hrs. Is this due to the net work problem? Has any body else is experiencing the same problem?

Things should be back to normal now although it can take up to 24 hours. Reboot your phone and if it's still not connecting contact customer service using the options at the bottom of the page.

I did everything as instructed yesterday at 11am, after 24 hours, I'd lost network on my old phone and still had nothing on the new one.... went into the Leicester City o2 today, got THE WORST service I have ever received (I basically got asked if I had stolen the phone, if I had cut up the micro sim myself, if I had waited 24 hours about 10 minutes into dealing with me, after I had repeatedly stated it had been over 24 hours) and have now been issued with a new sim card to start the process again. I have not had a working phone since yesterday morning. How is this a streamline service o2?

Mines been nearly 5 days. One O2 person said my iPhone is faulty and to take it back. So I used the Chat, and they then said its the SIM thats faulty. Will find out on saturday. But thats a week without my phone and Im paying £36 a month here. 😞

5 days is really not acceptable make sure you call in to complain once its sorted and ask for compensation for the time you have been without use

Im having the same problem here, and O2 wont allow me to retry more than 3 times in one day!! Am getting very frustrated as it should have been a straightforward swap of numbers from one sim to another!

It's a shame that such a simple process went badly wrong. At least you have your PAC so there should be no issue in porting your number to whichever network you choose. Just ensure whichever you opt for has good coverage in your home , work and normal locales.

Tuesday 18:00 bought a new iPhone from Carphone Warehouse & it worked fine on it's temporary number. Thursday morning received a text on old phone to say old number would be on new phone by 18:00. Old phone stopped working a few minutes later. By 23:30 Thursday new phone still showed "no service" & incoming calls go to O2 answer phone service. Given that there's a legal requirement to port numbers within 48 hours, that sounds like a breach of contract by O2. Lets hope they get it working tomorrow or the phone goes back on Saturday!!!
