New iphone XR 10 days ago on a new O2 account (new SIM) having left EE. All set up now and sorted - except people keep saying they can't hear me - my voice goes in and out all the time. I've done a recording on the phone in same position - fine. Speaking over WhatsApp - seems fine according to people on other end. Been the same at home and up in Derby in the house and outside. I do have a Ottabox case but the mic is clearly not blocked. I've tried turning off noise cancelling ans done a network re-set. Any ideas?

@Paulfires2018 Have you tried a factory reset? Sounds like a loose connection somewhere or a faulty mic/speaker

@Paulfires2018 check your network status here http://status.o2.co.uk/ and some more troubleshooting here https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/How-can-I-sort-out-my-network-issues/ba-p/1014088

If you can try a non O2 sim in the phone it will rule in or out a phone issue.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

In retrospect perhaps a silly question, iphone owners don't put covers on.....Whistle

Hi, my fella had the same problem with his XR that he bought at the end of November. Not on O2 though so I’m going to assume it’s not a network issue. The fact that you only got it 10 days ago, personally I wouldn’t persist with the issue. Get it exchanged. I know it’s a farse setting it up again but at least you’ll be quicker next time. 😁💃🏻 Finger crossed you get it sorted slight_smile

Did anyone else feel this was a mental health issue from the title and then ran in to give the OP a virtual hug?... 😄❤️
