Old number - new phone

Anonymous
Not applicable

I've joined O2 from Vodafone and have requested my old number be transferred over. Got the PAC number, followed the instructions etc. My old phone now is not connecting (as expected) and I was told my number would be transferred to the new handset by 6pm. The new handset connects fine to the O2 network but it still uses the number that came allocated with it from O2 NOT my old number. I keep switching it off and on again but it is now nearly 9pm and still my old number isnt appearing. Is this normal?

From the time your old sim turns off it can take up to 24 hours to activate it on your new sim. I did one last week that didn't switch until sometime during the night so you may find it not working until you wake up in the morning.
They were having some system issues and they were taking a bit longer than usual....

Have you tried switching the phone off, taking the sim out for about 5 minutes and then putting it back in?
