Hi, I read in an old thread about the Pixel 7 that in 2023 O2 didn't support Wi-Fi calling for PAYG customers. My area is still on 3G & my local shop have told me it'll be switched off at the end of the year. I was advised to take advantage of the Black Friday deals elsewhere as I wanted to buy a Pixel 9a phone outright & stay using one of my legacy sims (either Classic PAYG or £5 Big Bundle). Do you know whether O2 support Wi-Fi calling on a Google Pixel 9a phone which hasn't been bought from them?

O2 will provide Wifi calling on the Pixel 9A wherever it was bought but not on the Classic PAYG sim as far as I'm aware. They did say it would be rolled out for all PAYG by the end of 2025 but you may have to change to a Big Bundle or Rolling Plan.

Yes they do.
Wifi calling is coming to all PAYG before the end of the year.

Thank you to you both & for the link. BTW someone posted on Amazon having bought the Pixel 9a that they then discovered MVNOs using Vodafone/3 do not support Wi-Fi calling on this phone. I'll stay with O2 for now as I did get through to a very helpful O2 Tech support lady yesterday who answered several questions I had about switching phones with O2.

@HedgehogMum
Wifi Calling works on all the o2 MVNO's and most of the EE ones as well, just in case you want to look for a much better deal.

Don't know about all Vodafone / Three MNVO'S but their own Voxi covers WiFi Calling
