O2 Open discount is not available for iPhone 5C & iPhone 5S

Hello, I've just recently received an O2 Open 30% discount code which I was going to use on a new O2 Refresh contract for an IPhone 5S. I was told about this offer by the manager of my local O2 store on Saturday. However, I have just been informed by O2 customer services that the O2 Open discount will not be valid for the new iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S!!!! O2 never cease to suprise me. First, I get told that there will be NO iPhone 5S's in store on the release date and NOW I get told that I can't use the O2 Open discount code on the new phones!! I am seriously thinking about cancelling my contract with O2 and going with another service provider!!!!

I agree!!! O2 should not be excluding the iPhone 5C and 5S just because they are new phones. It's all about getting extra money for themselves and penalising the customer!!! Smiley Mad

Penalising the customer, you have been getting a 30% discount that most customers will never get!

I find it hard to be sympathetic and wonder why your money should be any different to anyone else's. Smiley Indifferent

I have been an O2 customer for a lot of years now and I have never had the 30% discount. I just found out on Saturday that the discount was available through the organisation I worked for. It was a member of staff in the O2 shop that informed me.

I am annoyed with O2 because they have excluded the new phones in order to make extra money on the new contracts that they will get. The O2 Open discount is still available on other phones just not the new iPhone 5C and 5S. Why?...because they will be the most popular phones and O2 will make the most money out of their contracts.

I get a corporate discount directly from Apple through work, they have always excluded new products from being discounted, so this doesn't really surprise me.

So the workaround is to wait.

If this is true why isn't it mentioned anywhere? I spoke to customer services about getting the iPhone 5s in store this week with my O2 Open code and they said it I could do it.

A few posts /threads back someone said customer services said its a no and had just been agreed recently.

If so that new info would not have come onto the site or forum yet.

Ive asked site staff here to have a look.

Others are assuming it will be the case because thats what its been like in the past launches.

The O2 Twitter has been telling people all day to apply their code in store when 'ordering' the 5S....nothing about not being able to use it.
