Iphone 5s keep connecting to GPRS

Hi I am on my second iphone 5s in a week . The first one keeps losing 3G signal and changing to GPRS , which means if I'm out and about I cannot connect to internet or check e mails etc . I have spoken to customer services and changed a few thins , I went into O2 shop and they check SIM card and that was ok . I have received new phone today and it is only doing same thing so it can't be the handset this time . Has anyone any ideas ? Does O2 need to send settings to my phone !!!??? I have been with orange for years and never had a problem or on my iPhone 4S !

Check for any local issues here http://status.o2.co.uk/

14 or 15 months later and it still happens. I've tried everything and don't know who to blame the iPhone 5s or O2.

Hi

This must be so frustrating for you. 😞

Usually a diagnostic run by the Apple genius bar helps to pick many issues up.

Especially if a SIM card works ok in another phone.

From memory, most of the reported issues turned out to be faulty phones......

I've had this with numerous iPhones, I do wonder if it's a problem with the way apple devices log on to networks, or a specific idiosyncrasy with the O2 network.

I had 2  Apple diagnostics run - no fault found. Eventually I "solved" the problem by switching to a provider which doesn't have a 2G network wink

I haven't been keeping up to date with the O2 forum, but are there any reports of this problem from iphone 6 users?

Hi beegee

No such problems on my iPhone 6+

I am however in a very strong location for signal. So whether this makes any difference or not I don't know.

My I phone 5s has only recently started this problem in the last month though I've had it over a year, it keeps connecting to GPRS when I;m in places I know I can get 3G or $G usually in the past, What can I do?
