My phone isn't receiving texts and won't make calls

Hello

I have an iPhone 12 mini. I've noticed recently it won't send texts or receive calls unless I turn it off and on again. It's fine on wifi but the moment I need 4g for hot spotting the internet stops working. When I try and make a phone call it gets stuck on 'connecting.' I'm trying to update to 15.6. Any ideas? I can't keep turning it off and on multiple times a day and I don't know when I'm missing calls.

Tricky one, @Hlo - as I'm an Android user, I'd probably have factory-reset my device after backing it up, to see if that cured, or killed, it... 😖
