Could you help me get my head round this dilemma please:

My elderly neighbour has an android and an iPad.

She struggles with her android and is replacing it with an iPhone so that it works alongside her iPad.

DILEMMA:

On setting up, should I sync her new iPhone with her android so she doesn't lose her data?

Or, do I sync her iPad up with her new iPhone?

I honestly don't know the best way of doing this.

Ultimately the goal is to have both her iPad and iPhone working together but I don't want her to lose her data from her android.

Would love some advice please.

Thank you very much

The iPhone and iPad will sync together automatically provided they are both logged into the same iCloud account.

Transfer data from the android device so you have that saved and the rest will happen all by itself.

If the Android held data is important then clearly you need to sync that data to the new device.

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate it.

I need to establish this. The main thing she wants to do is have the iPhone and the iPad work together.

I can't think of a way of doing both.

That is great news. Thank you very much.

Just to clarify to make sure I understand:

When setting up the iPhone I choose the sync with Android option.... then log in using the same iCloud details as the iPad and then the two will start working together while keeping the android text messages, photos etc.

If I have understood that correctly it will be perfect.

Thank you so much. I am really grateful.
