If you've upgraded to a new tariff have you swapped your number over to the new sim? http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/
If you want to check the IMEI of the phone you can do it here. It will cost you £1.99 http://www.checkmend.com/uk/

Where did you buy the phone from? Was it Ebay?... Also have you got the correct sim for the phone?

Well it should be a nano sim for that phone. Not sure, if it was brand new and sealed... why you can't get anything on the phone. Take the sim out and re-insert it ...reboot the phone by turning it on and off and see if that works?
Edit. Did you buy the phone sim free and unlocked?

The reason I asked if the phone was bought from Ebay is that we hear quite a few horror stories on here about phones bought from Ebay ....when they actually have been reported lost or stolen...and subsequently had the IMEI barred

@Anonymouswent offline at 8.12 am and hasn't been back since...so I am not sure what is happening (other than putting the new sim in the phone and getting No service message) Lots of unanswered questions sadly..:smileysad:
