I have an iPhone 6 on iOS 8.1.2 and just received a call from one of my contacts who has a contact pic.
When the call came in, my phone did NOT display the contact pic in full screen but rather just a circle of the pic, in the top right of the display (when the phone was ringing).
I then remember that this 'full screen contacts' was one of the features touted in iOS 8 (think it was removed in iOS 7 somewhere) so now wondered why my phone was STILL not displaying the full pic, when it rang.
I then tested this by ringing my iPhone from my house, which also has a contact pic, and this displayed the same thing (when the phone was ringing, the small circle of the pic, showed in the top right of the display, instead of the full screen).
I then thought that this could be down to the pic itself so I went into my home contact and changed the pic and then called my iPhone again. This time, whilst the phone was ringing, the pic DID indeed display in the full screen.
Does this mean that I now need to go through all my contacts and change the pics, if I want them to display in full screen mode, when they call me??!

It depends on how the pics were backed up previously. Android has the option to back up full size contact photos. I'm guessing the contacts on iTunes or the icloud aren't backed up as full images for storage reasons.

Hi DinoF
This link has helped me regarding Contacts before -> http://9to5mac.com/2014/09/28/ios-8-how-to-customize-and-disable-the-contacts-section-in-the-multitasking-interface/ and this may help http://forums.imore.com/ios-8/301497-fullscreen-caller-id-photo.html
On a side note how do you find battery life on iOS 8.1.2 please ?
Cheers for them links - will take a look!
As as for battery life - my iPhone 6 is really quite good!! I can go several days without a charge. I generally check emails, Facebook, Twitter + RSS feeds on the way to work each morning and the same thing on the way back and the phone can almost last me the working week!!!
@P.S. This blimmin 'Request Desktop Site' thing is really a pain in the @$$!! I have to select it EVERY time - why doesn't my iPad remember???

Hi DinoF
Thank you for your insights on Battery life on the iPhone 6.
Im getting pretty much the same on my iP6+ as when I was on iOS 8.1.1 but I've been watching elsewhere where users have reported a dip.
Ref Request Desktop Site -> I wholeheartedly agree , annoying isn't it 😁, to which I've done my bit by providing feedback asking for some kind of On/Off Toggle. Let's see if Apple listen to everyone that's hopefully saying the same.
It doesn't remember by Default I'm afraid right now.

The contact pics are now circles, not full screen like they were in previous versions of iOS I have it on iOS 8.1.2 on my iPhone 5c
This is from the 2nd link which I've tested and works to full screen picture.
"If the photo you set to the contact is on your phone it will show full view on the incoming call screen. If it's a photo no longer on your device but with your synced contacts on iCloud it will still only show the round thumbnail pic."
