vcard content not supported, any fix for this

Anonymous

Hi All,

Somebody sent me a vcard today by text but I couldn't see it, text said "content not supported". Is there a fix for this does anybody know? I'm sure I'd received vcards with no problem pre 5.1.1 update!?

S6 Edge by the way.

No luck I'm afraid, still came through as <<Content not supported>>

I can't understand it as it was fine before, why do these major updates always put so many other things out of kilter, it's almost like they don't fully evaluate it before release!

According to the link I sent you yesterday, there are 3 different versions of vcard software. All new devices (latest firmwares) will run the latest version so it must be an incompatibility issue with a phone running older versions.
It would be nice (and usually is) backwards compatible though.

So it could be my friends phone that needs updating?

Also, I sporadically get a notification "Android system content hidden"

That's the most likely thing I can think of at the moment.

Go to settings >"sounds and notifications". Scroll all the way down to the section "notification" and tap there on "While locked". Select "Show All Content".

This will display all notification content on the lock screen.
