signal on samsung galaxy s2

all of my family have got the s2 and when i am down my van in leysdown none of us can use our phones.now thats all five of us.but my wife as got an old lg cookie on o2 pay as you go and she can get out no problems at all.why is this and is there a fix we can do so we can use our phones.

Try switching the S2's to 2G only. Settings >More >Networks >Network Mode and select GSM Only.

You should get a good solid 2G signal on GSM only....
