Unlock code shambles

O2 are a joke when it comes to unlocking a handset, I've been trying to get mine unlocked for a month now, it went from 7 days to 7 working days, to 10 working days max, then 2-4 hrs then 10 days again... Finally got a code but surprise surprise it does not work, so another 10 days for them to check with Samsung. Then email confirming the codes as the ones that don't work. They suggested an O2 store for them to try, again nothing now they provide a premiem rate number to call Samsung cause they can't be bothered to do anything else... O2!!!! What a joke...

I haven't got the code yet. That's why I am miffed. I have been promised by the advisers that I will definitely have it 'today or tomorrow', and now Monday. And I have been told that the unlock code is usually with you in seven days. The unlock page states "For Business, Pay Monthly or Pay & Go (subject to acceptance) we'll respond via email within 7 days with the details on how to unlock."

When testing a phone  for being unlocked ,why is it important  for thhe othersim you try in it must be ACTIVE ?

Only for you to check the unlock was completed successfully by using the phone on a new network.

If its payandgo then it will register so no need to top it up unless you want to use it.
