I can't see this as a handset issue either, get the MMS stopped and restarted as above.

All  the settings have been reset more than once, it's been reprovisioned by o2 twice, everything that has been suggested has been done except to change the sim card.....

Sony made it work and on the O2 network it doesn't, has to be down to O2.

I must have missed the part where O2 reprovisioned it twice, apologies.
I thought they just got you to change settings.

I thought it was live chat you asked to do it once and we advised you to call CS to get it done properly?

I'm 99% certain this is down to provisioning but let's see what the new sim does.

Swapping sim cards will most likely reprovision it anyway.......

Yup, as each service is swapped, they are stopped on account then added once that service is ported to new sim.
So just like reprovisioning (when done correctly)the service is stopped then started again.

I started off talking to the online chat, then phoned o2, after that it was more calls to o2 and Sony......

I can now reset it blindfold I've done it that many times.

When the phone goes to Sony you don't send your sim card with it, so using their own sim means the problem didn't show up.
