Samsung galaxy s3 - unsuccessful unlocking

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I decided to use galaxy samsung s3 abroad and asked O2 to unlock device. Pay monthly contract expired in November 2014 and I just bought a pay and go sim and use it now. O2 have sent unlock number but it does not work as phone states that network unlock was unsuccessful. Proper IMEI number was given.

I cannot unlock it manually as command PERSO SHA256 OFF does not show up on screen (Android version 4.1.2). Is there any way to unlock my phone?

It maybe because the payg sim needs to be registered on O2 systems for 12 months, you could try the unlock form again or contact cs on 4445

If you're now using a Pay and Go sim you may have tp pay for it, unless you can put an O2 Pay Monthly sim in it to unlock it free: http://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-and-devices/unlocking-your-iphone-and-using-it-on-another-network

You need to go back to o2 and ask for the correct code.
In previous cases we have seen like this the handset was not locked so check it with an EE or Voda sim first.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
