Samsung account won't sync!

Anonymous

My Galaxy Ace 2 has "lost" my contacts and is only showing those from Facebook or google or my sim...none of the ones I have added the most info to such as addresses, birthdays, etc, which I gather are my samsung ones. When I go to try and sync my samsung account the sync option is greyed out. Any idea how I can un-grey it, or retrieve my contacts from wherever they may have been backed up to by samsung? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

If that is the case, is there a way to restore it? Is it backed up anywhere automatically?

Your Google contacts are here https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?tab=wm#contacts but it does sound like you have wiped your phone contacts somehow..... If that's the case and they were only on the phone then I'm afraid they are gone forever 😞

There are about ten contacts in my gmail account! 😞
If I've lost them forever I will be very sad....and very busy re-inputting all that information! I'm sure at some stage they were backed up to my sim, but that seems to split everyone out into home, mobile, work etc and doesn't have the address and other info stored. Did the O2 backup (blue book was it) stop?

Blue book stopped ages ago and your sim will only save numbers - It doesn't have the capacity to store addresses and birthdays etc.
Everything should be on Google - That way you can never loose it.

I once did exactly the same (losing my contacts) as they were only stored to my phone.

Luckily my other half had most of them so I had to bluetooth them back to my phone.

I made sure they were saved to sim from that time onwards...:smileywink:

My husband has found all the info on my phone via Kies but like you say, only numbers, not addresses etc. I can add the addresses etc on the PC faster though, with a full-size keyboard, which will help. From now on I will ensure I save new contacts to google ! Thanks for all your help folks!

Bluetoothing them from my husband may work, but I doubt he has all the addresses and birthdays etc in his! Men don't bother about stuff like that, they just expect us women to have all the info at our fingertips when they need it! 😉

Absolutely correct LOL (though to be fair, it was only the numbers I lost...)

I beg to differ...out of necessity I now have to remember all birthdays, addresses, anniversaries, due dates for home insurance, car insurance, MOT, gas & electric readings, doctor and hospital appointments, hatched, matched and despatched and lord knows what else....

God help me without my phone and everything is multi backed up to Google, drive, cloud, pc and the old fashioned pen & paper!:smileysad:
