Hi All,

got a notification on my Note this morning saying a new update was available.  As I have experienced in the past the notice is a very persistant one and you can only delay it by 3 hours before it reappears.

So ah well I might as well update.  It has been sat "downloading" for the last 3 hours - has anyone else had this problem?  How long should it take?  Should I unplug and try to start again?

Thanks in anticipation

At last I'm up and running.  Had to close PC and force phone to shutdown as both appeared to be frozen.  When Note rebooted it came up with failed update message and asked me to do emergency update (or something like that)  Anyway that didn't seem to work so I tried again and said no to that and started again.  Fortunately it worked this time so alls well.

Thanks for all the help guys

Are you using Kies or OTA on the phone?

You might find you need to turn off your anti virus whilst downloading the firmware to Kies. Also, try looking for an OTA update on the phone. It may be quicker.
